Coach Sarah Doyle
Varsity Coach
9th season with Northglenn High School Volleyball Program
Coaching since 2001
I have always loved teaching…for me, this is what coaching is about. I
taught swimming lessons when I was 16 years old and that was my first “teaching”
experience. I remember the amazement on this little boy’s face when he went
under the water and came up unscathed. He was simply amazed that he made it back above the water, still living, and could breathe again. I, on the other hand, saw a young boy who had worked so hard and accomplished something that, to him, seemed impossible at the start of the summer. I had seen this potential from day one. I believe this is what coaching is about. It is my job to encourage the student athletes to see the potential in themselves that they once didn’t know was there.
My goal in coaching is to help the student athletes grow into productive and healthy community members. I believe athletics instills a healthy active life style, loyalty, discipline, teamwork, and countless more attribute
that make these young people into well rounded adults.

Coach Jodie Harper
Junior Varsity Coach
3nd Season with Northglenn High School Volleyball Program
Coaching since 2008
When I started coaching 5 years ago I would have never imagined that coaching taught the coach. I walked into a position as a High School JV coach. I knew from the beginning that I was not going to be compensated for my time but I did not care, I loved the sport of volleyball and I was going to attack this opportunity of getting into coaching. I learned that I had such a huge impact on each one of the girls. It became more than teaching them the skills of volleyball, it became teaching them life skills. How I presented each skill to them would influence the young women they were becoming. Being a teacher as well as a coach I firmly believe in being a student before an athlete. Education is something that can never be taken from you, or erased. That playing a team sport required you to work together yet stay accountable for your contribution to the team. Building long lasting relationships, that you can always count on for support. Pushing yourself to accomplish goals, work on building self confidence, becoming competitive and learning how to live an active healthy life style. My goal for coaching is to teach them, both volleyball and life skills that they will remember for a life time, and pass the skills on when they get the opportunity.
